Failure to practice this norm might lead to losing out on a significant number of business opportunities. The manufacturing of many products we use in the U.S typically happens in different countries with unique cultures. If we can effectively cross-culturally communicate with those cultures, we could increase business productivity. One of the most overlooked benefits of cross-cultural communication is the knowledge we gain from different cultures (Cardon 117). If we can effectively cross-culturally communicate, we will gain a new perspective on life and business to enrich the way we live and do business. After presenting this topic to my audience, they will learn why it is vital to communicate effectively cross-culturally. Diversification of business in different countries leads to the development of the need for cultural intelligence. Business diversification implies that entrepreneurial instincts and investments are no longer limited to a nation like the United States alone (Cardon 103). It has grown to a network worldwide that encompasses a plethora of different cultures. In this view, the first critical evidence on the importance of cross-cultural communication is the ideology of varying ethical guidelines for business in the vast array of cultures. For instance, the united states investors invest in Africa, Asia, Australia, and Canada. All have different criteria and laws for conducting trades and businesses. Secondly, it appears that businesses emerge successfully if personnel from different cultures can work together. For example, the united states’ employee demography consists of 77% white people, 6.3% Asians, 12.3% African Surname 2 Americans, and 17.6% Latinos (PackZia 4). Cross-cultural communication is critical for the workers’ interoperability. There is a need for multilingual personnel in the business. Proper communication is essential for a successful business in the modern world, and the language barrier emerges as a common hindrance where communities across cultures use different languages (Cardon 105). It leads to the need for multilingual employees. For example, most people find it necessary to learn Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese languages. These countries portray the greatest development levels both economically and technologically yet communicate in different languages. More so, experts from these countries might not seem conversant with the English language, yet their skills seem needed. Secondly, communication barriers appear when different cultures have different interpretations of concepts (Warren). For instance, an industry in Europe focuses on business discussion directly.
