The instructor shall discuss the Florida Access to Emergency Services Law (Fla. Statute 395.1041). The original purpose and intent of law shall be discussed and this shall include a synopsis of events leading up to the passage of the law. This shall be followed by a delineation of the requirements of hospitals receiving eligible patients. Exceptions to the law also shall be discussed and the conditions under which a transfer for care to another provider also will be discussed. This shall be followed by a discussion of penalties for violation of the Federal and State of Florida statutes. Following the presentation, each student will prepare a two page submission discussing the law²s requirements. The submission shall be spaced at 1.5 and shall employ a Times New Roman 12 point font.
