Miscommunication Discussion

Miscommunication Discussion

Grammony Abdulaziz Alfuhaid Miscommunication. 3 days ago Hi everyone, Many miscommunication situations happened to me in these two years, especially during my first year in the US. Last spring, I had an Economic class. In the first week, the professor separates us into groups. The deal was after each chapter; the professor will choose one person from each group to submit the homework without knowing who the person who will submit the assignment is. There was one of my group mates. He was not in the class on that day. Sometimes when we finished dass early, the professor telling us to do the homework in the class to help each other. That student was not active with our group. He just asked us if he can to take a picture of the solution so he can write it for the submission date because we are in one team. We allowed him to take pictures. At the end of the semester, the professor asked that student to submit the final homework paper. He was not ready to submit it because he thought the group would decide who will submit the homework paper.Because of this miscommunication, we lost half of the points from the final homework paper. Also, because this student was one part of our group, we should have alerted him to what the professor said. From this situation, I learned to make sure to warn those with me in the group about what the professor had told us in their absence. After that, everyone will know what he should do. Thus because of this communication, there will be no miscommunication between us. Reference: Scott, C. (2019, November 21). How to avoid miscommunication in the workplace. We had a group of 5 and the best way I was able to break down the presentation was for each of us to do 2 minutes of speaking. We met at the end of class to quickly discuss our roles. We planned to work on the material individually then meet up. Two members of the group decided to not show up or let us know where they were which was lack of accountability on their end. Additionally, one of the two, decided to do a half way job with their slides, so I had to speak longer for my part of the presentation to meet the minimum requirement of 10 minutes. For the next time I have a team project, I will make sure we meet up together initially, so I can be clear with my tone and eye contact. Sarah Jane Reference Scott, C. (2019, November 21).
