Research Topic: Exploring human rights legibility and legality of Adult Dependent Relatives (ADR) to a family reunion in the UK under international human rights law.
Hypothesis:
1. Adult Dependent Relatives are eligible to a family reunion upon grant of immigration status to work and live in the UK
2. Illegal Adult Dependent Relatives are not eligible a family reunion under current human rights legislation?

Brief synopsis
This research explores legibility and application of International Human rights law, mainly Art 8, on the right to private and family life to immigrants’ relatives. This is important because it can help Adult Dependent Relatives (ADR) to enable family reunion in the UK legally. In principle, it applies to all non-EEA adult dependent relatives of citizens living or working in the UK in various immigration status contexts (economic/ high skilled visa/ seasonal workers/, refugee/humanitarian protection and students). The research relies on human rights legislation and the UK government policy documents and white paper reports to approve or disapprove the stated research hypotheses below (1.5.1 and 1.5.2) based on the research question 1.4 below.

1.1 Background of research
To discuss details of International Human rights law (mainly Art 8: Respect for your private and family life), how it can help Adult Dependent Relative (ADR) family reunion in the UK. To allow a non-EEA adult dependent relative of a British citizen in the UK, a person settled in the UK, or a person in the UK with refugee leave or humanitarian protection, to settle in the UK if he/she can demonstrate that, as a result of age, illness or disability, he/she requires a level of long-term personal care that can only be provided in the UK by his/her relative in the UK and without recourse to public funds.
