Homeland Security Discussion 1
As a student and during your professional journey, one of the many qualities that you must embrace is integrity. According to Telford and Gostick (2005, p. 13), Integrity is a tough taskmaster. . . . [T]he ability to consistently act in accordance with their own principles is one thing that sets people of integrity apart.
As we begin this educational journey, lets take a moment to review academic integrity.
Part A
1. Read Tridents Academic Integrity Policy, TUI Policy Handbook2020-2021, pages 47 to 49. This will outline student expectations and Instructor procedures. https://www.trident.edu/catalog/
2. View this video (12 minutes, 31 seconds): Green, A. (2011, November 20). Plagiarism [Video]. YouTube. https://youtu.be/tjqca1i0-IA This will help you with step 3 below.
3. Take the Turnitin Quiz at https://www.turnitin.com/static/plagiarism-quiz/. You will be able to review your answers and quiz performance. You can go back and take the quiz until you earn 13 out of 13. You will be provided with an answer guide plus explanations.
4. Submit a screenshot of the last page of the quiz with your score to the Case 1 Dropbox.
Important: You are required to take and pass the quiz before going on to Module 2.
Part B
In this Discussion forum, discuss the benefits of having completed Part A both in your educational journey and as a leader in the homeland security field upon graduation.
a. Identify how your integrity as a leader has a direct impact on the culture and values of the organization of which you are a part.
b. Explain the importance of adhering to a standard of ethics.
