Discussion # 6: U.S. Imperialism

Express your thoughts about U.S. Imperialism. Did the U.S. have any other choice but to intervene in these areas (the Phillippines, Cuba, etc.)? Were these areas hurt or helped more by U.S. intervention? Does the U.S. have a duty to intervene when its security (or another nation’s security) is at stake ?
