Prelicensure Discussion Guidelines and Rubric (03/06/2020) 1
Participation Requirements: You are required to post a minimum of two substantive posts in each graded discussion.
Discussion postings are from Sunday to Sunday of the week. For example, Week 2 discussion starts on the opening Sunday of Week 2 and ends on the closing Sunday of Week 2. Posts after 1159 p.m. the closing Sunday
will not be accepted. The late policy posted in the course does not apply to discussion postings.
These two posts must be on 2 separate days.
The first post in each graded discussion must be completed by Wednesday, 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time (MT).
The number of graded discussions may vary depending on the course.
Week 1-7 discussions must be completed by end of week, Sunday, 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time (MT).
Week 8 discussion must be completed by end of week, Saturday, 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time (MT).
Discussion Criteria
Outstanding or higher level of performance
Very good or high level of performance
Competent or satisfactory level of
performance
Poor or failing or unsatisfactory level of
performance
Answers the initial graded threaded discussion question(s)/topic(s), demonstrating knowledge and understanding of concepts for the week. The post is made in students words without any direct quotes. 7 points
Addresses all aspects of the initial discussion question(s) applying experiences, knowledge, and understanding regarding all weekly concepts. 7 points
Addresses most aspects of the initial discussion question(s) applying experiences, knowledge, and understanding of most of the weekly concepts. 6 points
Addresses some aspects of the initial discussion question(s) applying experiences, knowledge, and understanding of some of the weekly concepts. 5.5 points
Minimally addresses the initial discussion question(s) or does not address the initial question(s).
