ABSTRACT
This grant proposal seeks funding to support the implementation of a comprehensive
mental health program at Hilbert College. With an increasing demand for mental health
services among college students nationwide, the need for accessible and effective support
systems on campus has become paramount. The proposed program aims to address this need
by offering a range of services, including counseling, peer support groups, educational
workshops, and outreach activities. Funding in the amount of $150000 is requested to
establish and sustain the program over 30 days. The program will be designed to meet the
unique needs of Hilbert College students, fostering a supportive environment that promotes
mental well-being and resilience. Through partnerships with mental health professionals,
faculty, and student organizations, the program will provide holistic support to students
experiencing mental health challenges.
Hilbert College has raised 50000$ to contribute to the cost of implementing the
mental health program. The total budget required for this initiative is 200000$. The college
recently commissioned an external feasibility study to evaluate the most cost-effective
approach, considering whether it would be beneficial to establish the program within existing
facilities or pursue alternative options. The study recommended leveraging the college’s
existing infrastructure and facilities. This decision was based on the cost-effectiveness of
utilizing available space on campus and the potential to integrate the program seamlessly into
the college community. With ample unused space and resources at Hilbert College,
remodeling the current facilities emerged as the preferred strategy. The projected timeline for
implementing the mental health program is scheduled to commence on 18th May, 2024, with
completion expected on or before, 30th May, 2024. This timeline ensures timely access to
vital mental health services for Hilbert College students, aligning with the academic calendar
and student needs.

Introduction
The mental and emotional health as well as the social wellbeing is one of the main
concerns for colleges and universities which have considerably increased and further
developed in the modern higher learning process (World Health Organization: WHO, Mental
Health). Hilbert College recognizes mental health play crucial part among the student body.
This issue will be tackled down by means of a comprehensive mental health program, which
will be the main project of the college.
The proposed program aims to create a range of services, including counseling, staff
meetings, educational workshops, and outreach activities, tailored to meet the unique needs
of Hilbert College students. By such holistic approach, college expresses its intent to create
the campus climate that is healthy and participating in which will make the students feel
supported and confident.
The strategy to actualize this vision will be to raise the funds of $150,000 to kickstart and
maintain the program during 30 days. The total budget for the program will be $200, 000.
The school has managed to accumulate $50.000 which will be used to cover the needs of the
program, and this shows the readiness of the school in the issue.
Problem
The number of students seeking mental health services at colleges and universities
around the country has significantly increased in recent years. This increase in mental health
concerns among students has been attributed to a number of factors, such as personal
problems and challenges associated with school. Sadly, the current support networks are
insufficient to handle this growing issue, which has a negative influence on students’
academic achievement, general well-being, and chances for the future. The seriousness of this
problem emphasizes how quickly comprehensive actions are needed to lessen the detrimental
consequences on students’ mental health.
Objective
The principal aim of this initiative is to improve mental health support service
accessibility by introducing a graded approach. The goal of this curriculum is to provide
students with the fundamental information, materials, and instruments needed to support
mental health. The intention is to foster a school climate that supports both academic
achievement and personal development by taking a proactive stance. The goal is to create a
community of support for students so they can succeed in their academic endeavors as well as
their personal lives, through focused interventions and initiatives.
Solution
The mental health program at Hilbert College is methodically created to address the
various facets of students’ well-being in a comprehensive manner using a methodical, stepby-step approach. Implementing a wide range of interventions, such as counseling services,
educational programs, support group development, outreach activities, and communication
methods, is essential to this project. With this all-encompassing framework, students are
guaranteed access to a range of services that are customized to meet their individual
requirements and preferences.
2
The program’s use of several platforms, including the internet, mobile applications,
and on-campus workshops, to spread vital information and offer helpful advice for properly
managing mental health difficulties is one of its main features. Students are equipped with the
knowledge and abilities needed to proactively address their mental health difficulties before
they become substantial burdens by utilizing these digital tools and interactive workshops.
Beyond providing individualized support services, the program’s goals also include
fostering a supportive campus environment that places a high priority on mental health and
wellbeing. This entails making academic staff members important allies in raising mental
health awareness, incorporating mental health education into course curriculum, and
cultivating close relationships among students. To guarantee the long-term viability and
efficacy of its activities, the program is also dedicated to putting strong monitoring and
assessment systems in place. The goal of Hilbert College’s mental health program is to
empower students to thrive in a supportive and empowering atmosphere that fosters their
academic, emotional, and personal growth by taking a proactive and holistic approach.
Method
The successful implementation of the mental health program at Hilbert College will entail a
series of strategic steps aimed at ensuring its efficacy and impact on the student community:
1. Needs Assessment: A comprehensive needs assessment will be conducted to
meticulously examine and document the diverse mental health needs of Hilbert
College students. This process will involve gathering qualitative and quantitative data
through surveys, focus groups, and interviews to gain insights into the specific
challenges and concerns faced by students.
2. Program Development: Based on the findings of the needs assessment, a robust
program will be developed to address the identified mental health needs. This
program will encompass a range of interventions, including group counseling
services, peer support networks, skill-building training sessions, and targeted outreach
initiatives aimed at reaching students across various demographics and backgrounds.
3. Partnerships: Establishing strategic partnerships with mental health professionals,
mentoring institutions, student organizations, and community stakeholders will be
crucial for enhancing the effectiveness and reach of the program. Collaborative efforts
will facilitate access to resources, expertise, and support networks necessary for
addressing the diverse needs of students in a holistic manner.
4. Implementation: The implementation phase will involve careful planning and
execution of the program, starting with pilot projects to test the feasibility and
efficacy of various interventions. Subsequent phases will focus on scaling up
successful initiatives for full implementation across the college campus. Attention will
also be paid to the financial aspects, ensuring sustainable funding mechanisms are in
place to support the long-term viability of the program.
5. Evaluation: Continuous monitoring and evaluation will be integral components of the
program’s implementation process. Feedback mechanisms, data collection tools, and
assessment protocols will be utilized to track the effectiveness and impact of the
program over time. Regular evaluation cycles will inform ongoing refinements and
enhancements to optimize the program’s outcomes and ensure alignment with the
evolving needs of students.
3
Resources
The resources required for implementing and sustaining the mental health program
include:
1. There are a few qualified mental health professionals on staff comprised of; counselors,
psychologists, and psychiatrists.
2. Peer support is crucial and there should be trained volunteers to accomplish this.
3. Educational aids and supports for workshop activities.
4. Places for individual and group counselling subjects as well.
5. Marketing and public relations are part of the process of program outreach and promotion
of awareness.
6. Tools and software for data collection and control.
