Do you feel that radicalism in the civil rights and anti-war movements helped or hurt their causes?  Did the demands for direct and immediate action and the widespread publicity generated by such groups as the Black Panthers and the hippies outweigh the widespread alienation and distaste that these groups inspired or vice versa?
