POL 211 Milestone Three Guidelines and Rubric
For Milestone Three, you will submit a rough draft of the final research paper. This draft should contain all the critical elements of the final product, but it is not expected to be perfect. It will also incorporate at least two academic sources with textual support (the final paper will use at least three academic sources). The extent to which you have incorporated your instructor’s feedback on the draft of the final research paper will be considered in the assessment of the final draft of your research paper. In writing the rough draft, please review the details of the final submission in the Final Project Document.
Prompt: For this assignment, write a six- to eight-page paper that gives a basic idea of what the Cold War was, explains one of the proxy wars of the Cold War, and defines realist and idealist theoretic worldviews to explain the proxy war. Further, the paper will describe how the Cold War and the collapse of the Soviet Union have impacted (and continue to overshadow) current politics. You will examine the similarities, if any, between the Cold War and the current War on Terror.
