The objectives for the course are about ethics, technological advancements, making a strategic marketing plan, understanding global demands, understanding of consumers, understand multiple sides to a marketing plan and also knowing marketing management techniques. Advertisers need to follow the law when making advertisements.

There are many areas in marketing that may have to deal with ethics and legal issues. A few are as follow: Truthfulness, child advertising, advertising harmful products and misguided tactics. The FTC was created in order to prevent lying in advertising. Advertising must be done truthful and without any form of deceptive or unfair statements. Advertising is recommended for adults not children when it may be damaging to children, or hook them onto a product that hurts them socially. Harmful products like cigarettes need to be monitored in what advertisers say about the product. Ethics need to be considered when advertising a dangerous product to the population. Lastly, advertising tactics need to be ethical and non-manipulative in the way they market their product or service (Ingram, 2016).

It is important for managers to be flexible and knowledgeable when it comes to successfully running a business in any industry. As a manager, you are relied on for your valued input, first-hand experiences and resourcefulness that more junior levels may not possess just yet.

Managers are the general hub of any business and must hold some basic to intermediate level of expertise when it comes to all other functions of a business. For example, they may not be part of the Human Resources Department but they should be aware of how to communicate and coordinate that department, be aware of instances where that department may have to get involved with a situation and understand which circumstances or situations would be turned over to that department. Usually the larger a company is the more these practices become a written rule of the policies and guidelines that are followed.
