The plan should clearly explain how content themes will be parsed across different social media platforms so as to be complementary, and not repetitive. Also include direction on frequency and timing of posts. Your paper must include the sections outlined below, and should be four pages in length. Times New Roman, 12 fonts. You do not need to follow APA format. Directions Include the following sections in your content plan, and follow the guidelines below to flesh out your paper: 1. Overview In this introductory section, give a brief overview of the organization’s goals and objectives, its target audiences, and its content needs. Explain how it needs, or would like, content to support its overall strategy. Limit this section to two paragraphs. 2. Content Map Next, create a content map, which should contain the following components: • • • • The content themes you believe will be most effective in implementing the client’s digital PR strategy. For example, ‘customer stories’ might be a content theme for your client. Limit your content themes to three. The content channels that you recommend the client incorporate into its digital PR strategy. For example, these could include a blog, its website, a specific landing page and/or microsite, specific social media platforms, such as Instagram, Reddit, etc., a print publication such as an annual report, and so on. The content topics related to the content themes that will be disseminated via each platform. For example, your content theme of ‘customer stories’ could map to visual posts on Instagram consisting of an Instagram takeover by a customer, showcasing their ‘day in the life’ for your topic. Finally, identify the suggested timing for each type of content. For example, do you recommend posting the ‘day in the life’ content to Instagram three times a week? And so on. Use the following matrix as a template for your content map. List the items in each column as bullet points: Content Theme 3. Content Plan Details Content Channels Content Topics/Ideas Timing/Frequency In the next section, provide a narrative explanation for each of the elements of the content map. This is where you should elaborate on the bullet points listed in your content map, making your rationale for your content plan extremely clear. And as there are four elements to the content map, there should be four sub-sections here. Use the questions and direction below to inform this section, which should not exceed two pages in length. • • • • Content Themes How do the content themes you have identified relate to the organization’s goals? How do they communicate its story? Do they tie back to its key messages? Content Channels Explain your selection of content channels listed in your content map, and why you believe these specific content channels will be most effective in the organization’s communications. Do they leverage its existing resources and available talent? Do they meet the content needs of the organization’s audiences? Content Topics/Ideas Elaborate on the bullet points in this column of the content map. Provide greater specifics for each topic. For example, what types of customers will you showcase in ‘a day in the life’ Instagram posts? Why? Is there a healthy mix of content topics and ideas that will keep audiences engaged? Timing/Frequency Provide more detail on the suggested timing and frequency of posts, and explain your logic. 4. Content Mechanics In this section, explain what, if any, dissemination tools or platforms you recommend for the implementation of this content plan, and how it will work. For example, do you recommend using a social media manager such as Hootsuite? Do you recommend automating some posts, and curating others in real time? Why? The final section of this paper should not exceed one page in length. Scoring The following is the grading rubric for this paper outlining your eventual digital strategy. Ensure you have addressed each of the items noted when structuring your paper.
