In 1979, an epidemic of inhalational Anthrax occurred near Sverdlovsk.  Although it was only suspected at the time, this city was a major site of biological weapon production.  As you may be aware, this type of Anthrax is rare, and to have multiple cases of it occurring at the same time and place is extraordinary – it suggests weaponized Anthrax.
