Data breaches are now a way of life. The Privacy Rights Clearinghouse provides a continually updated list of recent breaches at https://www.privacyrights.org/data-breaches. Many of these are also listed on Fraud.orgs Data Breach webpage: https://www.fraud.org/latest_breaches.
For your first assignment, find a data breach that has occurred in the past two years and provide a summary of it in your own words. Include the following:

Who was affected (both the organization and any end-users)?
What was compromised (both the systems and types of data)?
How did the attack occur? Include the threat and attack vectors used, if known.
How could the breach have been prevented?
