Summary Description
Answer the following question in a minimum of 350 words:
· Explain the different roles and responsibilities of a case manager.
Case managers in the criminal justice setting take on many roles and tasks. Many case managers in criminal justice are probation officers and parole officers. The roles and responsibilities of a case manager are engaging the client in the treatment process, assessing the client’s needs, developing a service plan, linking the client with appropriate services, monitoring client progress, and advocating for the client as needed. Case management within a criminal justice field requires the case manager to take on additional tasks beyond those assumed by traditional social service caseworkers.
