1. Is the United States an imperialist superpower systematically exploiting the rest of the planet or is it a beacon of freedom and democracy? Or is it somehow both? Be sure to define imperialism –as well as what you mean by “freedom” and “democracy¨ and discuss the changing role of the US in the world, economic, political, and cultural.
