1) Research information on a traumatic situation that has affected learner development and family involvement in education (ex: Sandy Hook, Columbine, 9/11, etc.) Develop a strategy that can support young children experiencing a traumatic situation. How can you support the social and emotional development of young children who are coming into your classroom?
2) What legal responsibilities do you have as an educator to report suspected physical or emotional abuse situations to administration, child protective services, or other support agency related to early childhood? Research teacher responsibilities in your state and discuss how you can uphold these expectations in your future classroom.
