Read Helen Keller’s essay, “The Day Language Came into My Life” (online) (Links to an external site.).  After you read, write a short paragraph (150-300 words) responding to the following questions. Submit your paragraph to this assignment. 

What is the significance of the story Keller narrates about her experiences with her teacher? For example, what values does it reveal about Keller and the communities she is part of?
If you were going to write a similar story about the most significant thing you have learned after initially failing to learn it, what would you write about?  Why?
