5.3 Research: Transfer of Training / Simulator Evaluation

You should be well on your way through evaluating your selected simulation for the field study and evaluation. Use this research assignment to discuss transfer of training (TOT) and/or simulator evaluation for your Field Study and Evaluation simulation. The information in this paper can be incorporated into your draft field study and evaluation. You won’t be able to conduct a thorough TOT evaluation, but you can report your basic findings and conclusions

The paper should be at least 500 words (excluding title page and references) and adhere to APA format. Examine the Research Activities Rubric to identify the qualities of an effective research paper. Your paper should have at least four references with 50% from scholarly works (e.g., peer reviewed journals) and include a title page, body, and reference section.

TOT:

The concept of applying the knowledge and skills trainees obtained during a training intervention to their jobs is called “transfer of training” (TOT) or “transfer of learning.” The goals of TOT are twofold: 1) help the employee generalize skills learned in training to apply them to his or her specific role and 2) ensure those new skills are maintained over time.
