Table Ql shows a list of possible material candidate for the manufacture of a rectangular rod as in Figure Ql. The rod is 600 mm long and the width is half of its length, to be subjected to a maximum tensile load of 25 kN. The rod is to experience neither plastic deformation nor an elongation of more than 1 mm when applied load is 25 kN.
