Your midterm and final exams are going to giveyou the opportunity to take the concepts andprinciples we are discussing in this class andapply them to a real business problem. Morespecifically, these papers will require you toconsider the issues surrounding anorganizations initial international expansionefforts. Since you final exam relies heavily onthe work that you do for this paper, I recommendthat you take time now to carefully review theinstructions for both midterm and final exams.Instructions: Assume that your senior managementteam wants to investigate the possibility ofexpanding beyond the companys current limitedgeographic area and is considering expandinginternationally. You have been given the task toinvestigate these new international possibilities andto share your findings in the form of a culturalbriefing.1. Begin with a brief description of the organization.Feel free to create a new fictional organization oryou may model your organization after a real one.Start by giving your company a name. Specify theindustry (i.e., manufacturing, retail, insurance, orhealth care). Describe the products and/or servicesit provides.2. Where do you want to see your company focustheir expansion efforts? To answer this question, you are to create a cultural briefing for seniormanagement that discusses how business isconducted in this country. Include a discussion ofthe country, its workforce, and its common businesspractices. For instance, discuss language, traditions, values, and ethics. A good place to beginyour research is with your readings from Adler andNorthouse. Pay particular attention and be sure toreference Adlers discussions in chapters 1 and 2and Northouses discussions in chapter 15. Eachauthor addresses some of the key ways that culturesvary such as power distance, individualism vs.collectivism, and uncertainty avoidance. Thenincorporate information obtained from otherscholarly sources. Keep in mind that your culturalbriefing is only complete if it provides practicaladvice for your companys senior managementteam. In other words, if your briefing discusses landmass, population size, and system of government, youve missed the point of this assignment. Not onlyis your cultural briefing lacking information aboutculture, but it is short on practical information aswell. The body of this paper (excluding cover page, abstract, table of contents, reference page, andappendices) should be approximately eight pages inlength. Your response to Question 1 should be onlyone or two pages in length. As the second questionis examining the topics we are learning about in thisclass, I expect that this section of your paper will beparticularly well-developed. I recommend that yourefer to at least five scholarly sources other thanyour textbooks. Remember that Wikipedia is notconsidered a scholarly source for information
