At this point in your academic journey, you have certainly heard a great deal about ethics. However, a great deal of the guidelines in our Code of Ethics can be hard to understand until you see how they apply to the work that you are going to do. Let’s start with basics. Did you know that NASW is always updating and revising our Code to ensure that it is still culturally relevant and up to date with the issues of today? Did you also know that they have experts on hand to help you navigate ethical dilemmas? In addition to these formal resources, always remember that your supervisor is your first line of defense when dealing with an ethical dilemma.
