For this assignment, write a reflection journal entry in which you apply the concepts you learned this week in Chapter 5 of the Weitz text and the Brown article to a health or medical issue you or a family member or friend has faced. You should include discussion of the concepts of medicalization, social control, and the sick role as it pertains to the issue. Although this is a personal reflection, you must incorporate at least two additional scholarly sources to support your entry. Look for research about this same issue and what researchers find about people experiencing it.
