Continuous improvement is an essential process to ensure the comprehensive school counseling program consistently offers services that meet the changing needs of students. One aspect of continuous improvement is evaluating a current school counseling program to determine what is effective and what might need to be improved.
Write a 500-750-word evaluation of the career and college planning portion of the school counseling program you have reviewed. Be sure to consult the ASCA National Model as you write this evaluation. Include the following:
A description of the selected school sites career and college planning processes.
Analyze the strengths of the program. Provide specific examples.
Explain the ways in which the college and career program is aligned to the ASCA National Model. Provide specific examples.
Explain how you could improve this schools counseling program to advocate for access and equity to career exploration and development for all students.
Support your analysis with three to five scholarly resources.

Experiential Learning Activity C: Evaluate Career and College Preparation in a School Counseling Program
Implementing and evaluating career and college counseling programs is part of the school counselors role. It is their responsibility to make sure the career and college programs and curriculum are appropriate for their students.
Interview a school counselor about strengths and areas for development in their career and college development program:
Observe or discuss a career counseling session or activity.
Review the school counselor career and college development curriculum.
In 250-500 words, summarize and reflect on your interview and observation. Include in your reflection:
A summary of the career and college counseling program and curriculum.
The strengths and areas for development that you discovered in the career and college development program.
What you observed or discussed during the career counseling activity.
How you will apply what you have learned to your future professional practice as a school counselor.
