Instructions
The purpose of this assignment is to synthesize research literature regarding pathology and how it relates to and affects imaging studies.
For this assignment, you will conduct research on a specific pathology you learned about in this course. You will then complete a written paper detailing your findings and the analysis of your research. Carefully read the assignment instructions below for the guidelines to follow for this paper.
1. Content
a. Establishes topic and thesis statement.
b. Summarizes background information on the selected pathology.
c. Describes a specific new or current imaging modality that would best diagnose this particular pathology.
d. Explains the benefits of choosing this modality for additional diagnostic value, including in what area it could have the greatest impact.
e. Addresses potential barriers or obstacles to the use of this modality on a particular patient (e.g., Pacemaker for an MR patient).
f. Analyzes the implications for radiology and/or health care in general.
g. Provides a conclusion.
2. Organization
a. Includes clear introduction, body, and conclusion.
b. Presents information in logical and organized manner.
c. Uses effective paragraph transitions.
3. Writing requirements
a. Minimum 1200-word requirement (not including title and reference pages).
b. In-text citations required.
c. Uses a minimum of three scholarly sources as references.
d. Uses proper spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and grammar
throughout.
4. Paper formatting
a. Separate title page.
b. Separate reference page with references in APA format.
c. Arial or Times New Roman font, 12-point, double-spaced, one-inch margins.
Writing Mechanics
Use a 12-point font.
Follow APA writing guidelines.
Proofread and correct all errors in capitalization, punctuation, grammar, and spelling.
