To a certain extent, the findings
and recommendations can be applied to query processing if the end user has
the proper tools to set the query limits and to abort the query if any of the
quality of service parameters is out of limits. However, in the experience of this learner,
most end users performing Internet query do not have the software necessary
to set the query limits.

article sufficiently current to be applicable to the research in progress?
Although the article is being
published in the November 2003 issue of an ACM publication, most of the
references predate 2000. Only one
reference is dated in 2000 and there are several from 1992. In general, this reviewer believes the age
of the references for this article must be considered in the relevance to
todays computing and information systems environment. The technical details
of this particular article would not be appropriate for the research being
conducted by this learner.

these authors analyzed the data presented in an unbiased and quantitative
