For this discussion, choose a country other than your own, and then decide which of the Motivation Theories described in the chapter would be the best to use with employees in that country. Then give an example of a motivational technique you would use as a manager to motivate your employees.

Aligning IT Strategies to Business Strategies (15 Marks)
Delta Corporation has been very impressed with the progress it has made with its new product line and the new marketing approach that you
recommended and instigated. As a result, it is now considering
expanding this approach for its other product lines, providing them with
the ability to market and sell all of its products online. However, it has
not considered the implications for its IT department in developing this
type of plan. As the Social Media Marketing Consultant, you are familiar
with integrating business and IT strategic planning. They have called
upon you to provide advice. You need to:

to a more on-line approach for its sales and marketing activities. In
particular, describe the consequences for its IT department and
why they need to be involved in the planning phase.

• Outline some strategic technology trends that the company may

Finally, research a company in Saudi Arabia and discuss whether they

successful discuss how they managed this alignment and what benefits

Project Management
You are the project manager and need to compose an SOW for clients who want you to
develop a Kickstarter.com site for their project, as discussed in the chapter.
1. Start off by composing an SOW using a standard SOW template that you found and
downloaded from the Internet. Use Tom’s Planner (https://www.tomsplanner.com) or
other free Gantt chart software to create a Gantt chart for your project. Share your
Gantt chart for the project as an attachment and as an image – discuss how a Gantt
chart can improve projects that you work on.
2. Assume that after your clients review your SOW and Gantt chart, they request that
you discount the price 20%. Based on the triple constraints, discuss how you would
respond?

This week, we learned about different types of leadership directives and
leadership styles. As a reflection of the course, describe your leadership
style and how your style will help you develop decision-making skills in
your management career. One assessment you may use is here, but
you may also use any leadership style assessment you find online to
determine your style. Does this leadership style match your skills,
abilities, and personality? Why or why not?
