MGT 377 Case Study 1 Guidelines
Instructions:
Case studies require the ability to assess the presented
situation and then synthesize this information to
make recommendations that minimize the risk for other
organizations.
For your first case study, review Case 7, Butler Systems
(pp. 467-468 of your textbook) and then, after an
introductory paragraph, provide a summary of the situation.
In subsequent paragraphs, address the
following:
1. As the VP of operations, what is your assessment of the
battery shortage problem, and what
actions would you take and why?
2. What is the buying organizations role in selecting and
qualifying potential suppliers?
Present the key learnings that came out of the situation and
make recommendations to improve the
situation presented. Consider the Saint Leo core value of
respect as you consider your decisions on the
best ways to address the situation. In your paper, you will
need to show how excellence factored into your
decisions.
The paper should conclude with a summary paragraph that
answers the question, why should anyone
care about this situation.
Although there are no limitations to the length of the paper
required for the case study assignments, in
general, the paper should be at least two double-spaced pages.
Be sure to follow all APA requirements.
Submit Case Study 1 to the Dropbox no later than Thursday
11:59 PM EST/EDT of Module 3.
