Instructions: One helpful way to learn about creating effective visual materials is to analyze some. When you take time to consider how a visual text enhances or interferes with meaning, it becomes easier to attend to the choices you make in your own visual material. You will soon be putting together a PowerPoint presentation for this class, and for this assignment, you will analyze a PowerPoint presentation created by someone else. You will not have the oral component as part of this assignment, so your focus will be entirely on the visual elements. However, you do have access to the presenter’s notes that appear below the slides, if you think they will be helpful. As you look at the slides, please view it as a Slide Show so that you see it in full screen–some of the slides use moving transitions which cannot be seen unless viewing as a Slide Show. Attached are the slides from a past ISU presentation. For this assignment, provide an analysis and evaluation of the slides, including your reasoning for your position. Consider such elements as the organization of the slides; the content that is included; the size, spacing, and layout of the slides; the use of effective detail; the color schemes; the continuity of the thematic approach; the readability; and other visual elements that you find most interesting. Consider both strengths and weaknesses of the slides. You should be sure to include references to specific elements of the slides. You do not need to comment on every slide.
