Title: Billing & Eligibility Clerk 2
Department: Contribution Accounting
Position Type: Non Exempt Hours per Week : 40
Position Summary:
Responsible for performing reconciliation related to cash receipts, employer contribution reports and employer billings as well as handling eligibility issues and provider maintenance.
“Has minimum necessary access to Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) by Job Description/Role.”
General Duties:
· Research, prepare, and data enter employer contributions, COBRA payments, refund requests, disability waivers and cash receipts.
· Review, research, and correct employer contribution reports for appropriate rates, prior balances, and adherence to plan requirements.
· Contact employers to resolve errors, omissions, and other discrepancies found in employer contribution reports.
· Respond to incoming calls regarding employer account balances and other contribution issues.
· Perform provider and employer system maintenance.
· Process all aspects of reciprocity, including monthly updates and ongoing changes in the system.
· Post remittance reports and perform balancing and reconciliation of accounts.
· Update participant and dependent information in the system.
· Process requests for documentation from Trustees i.e. amendments, payment histories, etc.
· Perform employer audits to insure accurate payments and posting.
· Work with attorneys to resolve delinquencies and liquidated damages for late contributions received.
· Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Two years of billing and eligibility related experience.
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
· Ability to operate office equipment such as a PC, calculator, FAX, copier, etc.
· Ability to type 35 WPM.
· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.
· Ability to effectively present written and verbal information to customers, clients, and other employees.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
· Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form.
