In moving forward, let’s observe and review both of our first two lectures:
1. a) Latina/o/x Identity aka slideshow audio lecture presentation, titled. What Is Latina/o/x?: Evil US Census & Complexities of Latina/o/x Identity.
2. b) Latina/o/x History and Studies Part 1 slideshow audio lecture, titled. Because We Matter, and Our History Matters: Creation and Establishment of Latina/o/x History.
With these sources in mind, I wonder the big five questions for your writing prompt:
Our first class lecture adamantly argues that Latina/o/x peoples are racially and ethnically more than just brownskinned peoples-Latina/o/x peoples are products of European colonization, indigenous and African slavery, genocide, Asian indentured servitude, imperialism, etc. Now that you have been exposed to this entire plethora history of racial and ethnic mixing of Latina/o/x peoples, including the 100 Latinx faces, presented by the wonderful world of BuzzFeed peeps, how does this historical information affirm or complicate your perceptions of Latina/o/x peoples? Please explain.
What are three to five topics you learned from and found the most engaging in the lecture, What is Latina/o/x”? Pull out example(s) from the lecture, and please explain your answers).
