very important that you rely on what is considered
credible/reliable sources for your research.
Living in our highly technological and digital world means being an even more active and critical consumer of information. With information so readily available and so many sources to choose from it can make even the simplest search more complex in deciding how reliable your source can be to use. Especially when you can just “Google It.”
For this activity you will create two lists and discuss the following:
Firstly develop a list of data sources with which you are currently familiar.
Include as many print and electronic sources as possible. This can include both sources you are certain are credible and sources that you use but sometimes question the accuracy/reliability of the information.
Next make a list of sources that you think are not credible, unethical, or both. You can use sources from your previous list and also name other sources that would fall into this category.
Explain why each one makes this list.
Perhaps make a list of the characteristics that make these types of sources not credible or unethical underneath each title. Respond if you see some any commonalities/similarities among the several types of sources that are considered unethical or not credible and comment as to why.
