Instruction:
1: Choose a topic for sustainable development based on the SDGs (energy, poverty, life on land, climate, etc…) and select 1-3 SDG indicators from 1 or more SDGs that you would like to address. You can find the Goals and their targets and indicators HERE https://sdgs.un.org/goals (Already selected)
2. Choose a place to implement it where the indicator(s) needs to be reached – it can be at
a city, community, or regional scale. Explain at least one reason why it has not been
reached (remember, how we define the problem impacts how we propose the solution).
3. Opportunities: Provide at least one example of how the goal is being implemented
somewhere similar, why it has been successful, and how it can be applied to your case.
4. Barriers & Tensions: Describe at least two barriers or tensions that arise for the
indicators to be met, for example, corruption in government, local worldviews clashing
with goal, invisible or informal populations, conflict with other SDG indicators or goals
5. Argument & Synthesis for solutions: Describe the pathways forward – which potential
actors and at what scale (top-down, bottom-up) could be a possible pathway forward?
