The assessed case study will test students’ research skills, problem solving abilities, adaptability and initiative, as well as the student’s critical use of relevant research and theoretical perspectives based on the collection and submission of empirical material.
Focus on a specific case related to issues of political communication as discussed in the module. Your case might concern: ‘the politics of media’; ‘media as politics’; ‘media in politics’.
Case studies can focus on political communication in specific countries, regions attending to national or international events.

Case studies can focus on a specific medium (e.g. newspapers, TV, online, podcasts, social media, etc.), political/cultural figures, a political party, politician, political organization, election campaign, political/cultural event, etc.

You could analyse a particular discourse or cultural representation in media (e.g. identity, immigration, race, gender, social class, minorities, international politics etc.).
