Use only the Beck’s Anxiety Inventory questionnaire and the DSM 5 manual (reference them correctly) and answer the above questions for one of the following Anxiety Disorders
1. Highlight which questions from the inventory correspond with the diagnostic criteria. Are there any criteria that are not well assessed by your chosen assessment?
2. Looking at the criteria, suggest a question to add to the inventory to better screen for the disorder.
3. How is the inventory you chose useful? What populations do you think it could be used on? Who might it not be helpful for (think specific ages, cultures, or socioeconomic groups).
4. Would this assessment have been more or less helpful, let’s say 50 years ago? Why or why not?
5. What are the limitations of such inventories? Why should these limitations be considered when giving any type of assessment to an individual?
