This assignment is designed to assess learning outcomes:
1. Critically evaluate various theories and tools of business, marketing, entrepreneurship and innovation in order to define the appropriate start-up business processes to be engaged.
2. Operate as a member of a project team to design and prepare a range of business planning outputs and artefacts required in the process of starting a new business venture and provide interim reporting on progress.
3. Define and evaluate the use of effectual, creative, critical thinking, problem solving as aspects of entrepreneurship.
4. Appraise the business sustainability, long term development and planning to appreciate the concept of international market development in the context of a start-up and small & medium size enterprise (SME)
This assignment is a 4,000 word Portfolio where you are required to show evidence of the development of the learning outcomes.
Your portfolio will contain evidence of completing 5 different tasks (described overleaf).
Criteria for Assessment
Your Portfolio should include the following tasks;

1 Literature Review LO1 Write a 1,000 word essay that critically evaluates one of the theories of entrepreneurship or innovation used within the module.
2 Reflective Journal LO2 and 3 Using de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats write a reflective journal of three seminars that you attended – use graphics to help illustrate your answer (1000 words, in total).
During the seminar you are going to develop a business idea.
3 Defending your idea LO3 and 4 Create an elevator pitch of your business idea. Then upload this video to the area specified on Moodle
This will be done in seminars on week 10
4 Watch all the other groups’ elevator pitches and make a comment on another group’s elevator pitch; In your portfolio you need to screenshot your comment, to show you produced it, then state the reasoning behind your comment (500 words in total).
This will be done in seminars on week 11
5 When people have posted comments on your pitch you must reply with a justified answer to 3 comments (500 words per comment)
